Health And Safety

Our aim is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees, children and parent/carers. We carry out regular risk assessment checks, daily room assessment checks and outdoor check. We have a responsibility to ensure the environment is safe, secure and fit for the purpose.  We update our documents yearly to ensure all information is relevant and within the current guidelines.

Safeguarding / Child Protection

Our prime aim and responsibility is to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of all children in our care. As such we believe we have a duty to the children, to act quickly and responsibly in any instance that may come to our attention. All staff attends relevant training to ensure new strategies and procedures are implemented. All new beginnings workers have completed C.R.B forms which are also updated every 3 years, we comply with all government requirements, to ensure a high standard of care.

SEN (Special Educational Needs)

New Beginnings are committed to the integration of children with special needs. All children have the right to be educated and develop their full potential alongside each other. It is a positive experience to be able to share the same opportunities and overcome any difficulties together.   At New Beginnings children with special needs will be given equal opportunity to access all facilities, activities and play opportunities, where necessary specialist equipment will be accessed. Activities will be adapted to meet the needs of all children.  We have two lead co-ordinators for SEN within the setting both hold a CACHE qualification in SEN.

Behaviour

Each child is recognised as an individual with their own individual needs and aspirations. It is recognised that the behaviour each child demonstrates is related to the child’s past and present experiences and environment along with attributes of their personality. New Beginnings is fully committed to promoting good behaviour standards within our setting. We aim to promote positive behaviour, encourage children to develop socially and to develop their sense of right and wrong.
